About this ebook

A brand-new Murder Mystery from USA TODAY Bestselling author Megan Matthews.

A missing person. A suspicious ex-boyfriend. A quiet murder.

Vonnie Vines promised everyone she’d be Maine’s best private investigator. It sounded simple, but cases are hard to find and money is growing tight. And then her only client turns up dead.

Now, Vonnie must solve a murder, find a missing Brent, and avoid falling back in love with her SEAL ex-boyfriend, all with the police in her way at every turn. While navigating her now abundant caseload, she’ll uncover new crimes, battle a metal band in her office building, and learn her ex, Broadrick, isn’t the man she thought. But who is he?

With rent due, Broadrick’s lies, and her new roommate Vonnie’s problems are sky high. If she’s not careful, she’ll lose everything.

A hilariously entertaining read with adventure, mystery and one hella-hot former SEAL. Or is he?

It was hard to figure this book out. Vonnie was not what I expected. She was a ditz who stumbled her what through cases. I guess it was because she was an immature 22 yr old. Throughout the book, it refers to characters and hints at their past situation. This makes a reader feel a little left out if you haven't read the previous books of Pelican Bay. Take this as a light read and it will be more enjoyable.

the drama lugging around katy's box was ridiculous but the inept and unique sleuthing was funny and interesting. One may expect an intense, gripping and action filled investigation to a murder case, yeah not. Ditzy but sensible more like. The way my favourite characters of previous books connects with people of this book makes it doubly more entertaining. My Pelican Bay characters.

This starts an engaging mystery series that I enjoyed reading. This story is about Vonnie Vines who's working at a detective agency trying to get her license. Her first assignment is proving her client's husband is cheating but she finds out he's innocent. Going to tell Mrs. Jones the news, Vonnie discovers Mrs. Jones dead on the kitchen floor. This leads her to investigate the crime with help from her ex-boyfriend, Broadrick in this enjoyable story.
