About this ebook

Martin Trieste has survived a century as an unaffiliated vampire by keeping things simple: small team, tight operation, no attachments. That approach is about to be comprehensively destroyed. When a covert intelligence mission leads to the discovery of a young Algerian woman — feral but barely alive, her vampirism defies everything Martin knows about newly turned vampires — he faces a choice. Walk away, or take responsibility. Martin has never been good at walking away. Adara changes the pack. She changes Martin. And she is only the beginning. Across three continents — from the streets of Madrid to the Saharan desert to the frozen wilderness of Quebec — Martin and his team are drawn into a conspiracy that stuns the highest levels of American intelligence. Someone is manufacturing weaponised vampires. Someone is hiding dirty bombs inside the newly turned vampire's bodies. Martin will be pushed to the limits of his ensurance to save his family and the world.

Family of Blood is the second book in the Trieste Family Series — broader in scope, higher in stakes, and deeper in character than its predecessor. At its heart is a question Martin has avoided for a hundred years: what does it mean to be responsible for someone else?
