The Secret Christmas

How does a place called Christmas Valley end up with no Christmas spirit? Well, that just wants Nicholas Frost wants to know when he drives into town and sees what used to be his favorite town at the favorite time of the year. Nicky gets called to town when his uncle is injured and he drops all and comes to help him. Is it because he loves him? Well, it is more because Nicky wants to make sure his trust funds get released on time on his birthday so he can pay his employees. When he runs into Angela Corker, a baker who was his best friend when he was younger and lived there. They have a connection but once Angela realizes he is there to help in his uncle's " keep Christmas away from the town" vendetta she simply can't be around him. There is so much more to it than this of course and it is all in the book. I loved this retelling of a Scrooge.

The Secret Christmas is a delightful romance with a fearless heroine determined to do what is right for her town. The hero is determined to fix the wrong his uncle has caused in the same town, but said uncle is determined to tie his hands. The pacing pulled me in from the start and kept me enmeshed until the end. The romance between Angela and Nicky is built on the friendship they shared as children. Now they are adults and appear to be on different sides. The pull between them to trust the other is amazing. I truly rooted for them to find a way to find their happy ending. Nick’s uncle is a broken man, blaming Christmas Valley for his late wife’s death. While he is mean-spirited, underneath he’s hurting, so even though he’s the villain in this tale, I wanted his redemption. He needed someone to teach him the true meaning of Christmas. If you enjoy Christmas romances with engaging characters, one with a great message of people coming together for good, then you will love The Secret Christmas as much as I did. I have yet to read one of Mallory Kane’s books I didn’t enjoy. Whether she’s writing sweet romance or romantic suspense, I am confident I’m in for an amazing story. I’m not familiar with Deborah Cox’s stories, but I will look for her books in the future. Happy reading!

The is is a superb small town Christmas story with a more than slight nod tho the classic a Christmas Carol Nick Frost and Angela Corker where childhood friends but each went their desperate ways as they grew older She stayed in the town of Christmas Valley Now Nick has returned and he is confused when he discovers a town that no longer celebrates Christmas something he remembers fondly from the past. he soon discovers that it is all due to his uncle he lost his wife and has forbidden all the business whose landlord he is to celebrate Christmas but there is one hold out for years Angela has been holding Christmas festivities in secret can she trust Nick with the secret or will he betray them Can they get his uncle top start to live again because if he doesn't the town may not survive for much longer You will have to read to see
