Dead Calm: A Humorous Beaver Island Mystery

A retired spy still wants to save the world. Her nerdy houseguest just wants to survive her vacation.

It's summertime on Canada's Lake Ontario, and there's trouble on the horizon. When a remote-controlled tractor goes berserk at the ground-breaking for a new development, former British Intelligence agent Irma Abercrombie's finely-honed paranoia goes into overdrive—and after a beloved local is murdered, she and her brainy houseguest Violet Blackheart are drawn into an island intrigue.

Violet gets to work on reverse-engineering a tractor hack, while learning how to conquer her fear of the high seas. Irma flirts with the idea of getting closer to a dangerous ex-nemesis, as she tries to untangle the identity of her friend's killer. But can a retired spy and an intrepid (but nauseous) nerd track down a murderer? Only if they work together—along with their trusty canine sidekick, Mr. Pugglesworth.
