About this ebook

Did you know that there’s actually an easy way to make healthy eating fun? That it’s possible to make vegetables taste just as good as your regular milkshake?

Thankfully, there’s a way to make all of this possible and it’s through a regimen called the green smoothie diet. In Maggie Fitzgerald’s new book, The 10-Day Green Smoothie Challenge, she will show how you can maintain a healthy lifestyle while satisfying your cravings for sweet delicious treats like green smoothies. Not only are these blended drinks delicious but also nutritious and easy to prepare.

Fitzgerald, a nutrition health expert who studied raw green diets for many years, has learned that one of the most effective ways to make people stick to a diet is to prepare it as easy and convenient as possible. In this modern world, most people find it difficult to spend even 30 minutes in the kitchen knowing that they can just grab a meal at the nearest fast-food store. There’s also the fact that not all vegetables taste great. So instead, eating the unhealthy stuff becomes the default choice.

The good news is that the green smoothie diet can make it possible for you to prepare delicious healthy meals efficiently. All it takes is less than 15 minutes and you will learn exactly how to do that. If you find it hard to love vegetables, green smoothies will make a great transition into a healthy eating lifestyle. They allow you to exercise your creativity in a short amount of time, while your body is receiving the nourishment that it needs.

In the book, you will also learn:

Fennel listed twice. Missing words in sentences. All this in just the first chapter. It's like talking to someone who has spinach stuck to their teeth.

About the author

The author is a professional speaker and health coach. She works with many individuals and groups to help show them how to attain a healthy lifestyle, combining diet and a whole lifestyle plan to feel better, look better, and live better! This includes everything from helping them choose a healthy way of eating to discovering how to use “downtime” to improve their feeling of well-being.

She completed studies for a degree in chemical engineering at UCLA, where she met and married her husband James. Following that, she accepted an internship in India. Unfortunately, she was forced to return to the United States shortly after for treatment of her diabetes, which had been progressively worsening. Her health had deteriorated, and she was always tired. Like many others, she has struggled with weight problems since childhood; in addition, she has had to combat the symptoms and problems of diabetes. Also like many of us, she has tried many different diets and exercise programs, with varying degrees of success.

She began to research and try different diets in the hope of increasing her energy and feeling better. One of those diets was the Paleo diet, and since trying it, she has never looked back. There is a simple principle behind the Paleo diet. Many of the health problems we suffer from today result from a mismatch between the foods we eat and the natural diet that our bodies are meant to use. When we return to a natural diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, nuts, and natural meat, the food we eat no longer makes us sick, but rather provides us with the means to live a strong, vibrant, and energetic lifestyle. Today, the author is the picture of health and wellness, participates in triathlons and frequently gives talks on the subject of how the Paleo diet impacts sports fitness and emotional health. Her personal experiences help her audience relate to her easily, and the impact of the changes she has made gives hope to others that it can work for them as well.

Recently, she has spent three months with the San people of the Kalahari Desert, hoping to discover the secrets of their endurance and stamina in hot desert conditions. The San people hunt for their meat and forage for fruit, nuts, and roots to supplement their diet; the diet and lifestyle which they follow allows them to survive in an extremely inhospitable environment. They are thought to be the oldest inhabitants of South Africa, having been there for over 100,000 years. They have always followed a nomadic lifestyle, and have never been known to cultivate crops.

The author grew up in Southern California, and now lives in Hawaii with her husband, three children, two dogs, and a pet Boa Constrictor. She believes that keeping things simple, we can achieve so much more. This has certainly worked for her! She now concentrates on teaching and sharing with others what she has learned through research, travels, and personal experience.
