درباره این ای-کتاب
In "Love Among the Chickens," P.G. Wodehouse masterfully weaves a comedic narrative that marries romance with the absurdities of rural life. Set against the backdrop of a genteel English countryside, the plot follows the hapless hero, Jerry Mitchell, whose attempts at pigeon breeding lead him into a convoluted series of misadventures involving misunderstandings, romantic entanglements, and a riotous cast of characters. Wodehouse's signature wit and deft use of dialogue illuminate the escapades of his protagonists, making this work emblematic of the early 20th-century Edwardian whimsy that would come to define his literary style. Wodehouse, often hailed as the master of the comic novel, was heavily influenced by his own experiences growing up in England and the social mores of the era. His ability to portray the upper middle class with both affection and irony speaks to a life spent observing and critiquing the idiosyncrasies of British society. A strong sense of narrative layering is present in this novel, showcasing Wodehouse's growing mastery of character-driven storytelling. "Love Among the Chickens" is a splendid introduction to Wodehouse's unique blend of humor and romance. Readers yearning for lighthearted escapism will find themselves thoroughly enchanted by Jerry's misadventures and the delightful absurdities of Wodehouse's world. This novel is a timeless reminder of the joys of love, laughter, and the unpredictable nature of life.

درباره نویسنده
Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse, known universally as P.G. Wodehouse, was an English author and one of the most widely read humorists of the 20th century. Born on October 15, 1881, in Guildford, Surrey, Wodehouse created several iconic characters and series, most famously Jeeves and Wooster and the Blandings Castle sagas. He delighted readers with his intricate plots, singular wit, and a vivid, uplifting prose style that has endured through the decades. 'Love Among the Chickens', published in 1906, stands as an early example of Wodehouse's work, showcasing his flair for combining humor with a reflection on Edwardian-era society and its eccentric aristocracy. Although not as famous as his later works, this novel marks the development of his literary style that would find full expression in his subsequent prolific output, where he masterfully chronicled the trials and tribulations of his endearing upper-class characters with a lighthearted touch and a mastery of the English language. Despite controversies during World War II due to his wartime broadcasts, Wodehouse's literary legacy flourished, with his career spanning over seventy years and encompassing more than ninety books. Knighted in 1975, a recognition that affirmed his contributions to English literature, Wodehouse passed away on February 14, 1975, in Southampton, New York, leaving behind a wealth of comedic literature that continues to entertain and influence writers and readers worldwide.
