About this ebook

She came home to disappear. He never expected her to become the one person his family needed most.

After a devastating surgical mistake destroys Dr. Margaret Gordon’s career, she retreats to her late grandfather’s rural Idaho property, determined to keep the world at a distance. Then widowed father Joe Wilde asks for her help with Storm, the troubled horse his teenage son, Ryan, can no longer control.

Margaret soon realizes the horse isn’t the real problem. Ryan is hurting, Joe isn’t listening, and the stubborn Wilde father is awakening feelings she thought she’d buried for good.

But when Ryan makes a reckless decision and disappears into the Idaho wilderness on horseback, Joe and Margaret must find him before it’s too late—and Margaret may have to become the doctor she no longer believes she is to save the boy she has come to love.

A heartfelt small-town western romance about family, forgiveness, second chances, and discovering that one mistake doesn’t have to define the rest of your life.

Joe is short-tempered, obtuse, & bullying, who is clearly clueless about personal relationships. Margaret is much more likable. She has experienced hardships, which make her a more sympathetic character. Ryan is the link that makes Joe & Margaret’s relationship work. I truly enjoyed reading this story, especially as Joe does redeem himself to a certain extent. However, I felt that Margaret forgave Joe too quickly & the ending felt a bit abrupt. Overall, this is an engaging & entertaining tale.

I'm giving it 3 stars because I enjoyed the plot. However, I have some issues with Joe and the way he treats Margaret at some stages in the story. He takes being a jerk a bit too far for my liking.

Cute, good storyline. Well written also. A lil much on the mixed feelings/hot for his bod kinda thing. "Oh I hate him/ He's so hot!/I'm so vulnerable." Otherwise pretty good. Couldn't put it down.
