About this ebook

ONE OF THE BEST FEEL-GOOD BOOKS OF 2021 BY THE WASHINGTON POST

“I read Eight Perfect Hours in one sitting, in four perfect hours, because I couldn’t bear to put it down without knowing the ending.” —Jodi Picoult, #1 New York Times bestselling author

In this romantic and heartwarming novel, two strangers meet in chance circumstances during a blizzard and spend one perfect evening together, thinking they’ll never see each other again. But fate seems to have different plans. From the acclaimed author of the “swoon-worthy…rom-com” (The Washington Post) Dear Emmie Blue.

On a snowy evening in March, thirty-something Noelle Butterby is on her way back from an event at her old college when disaster strikes. With a blizzard closing off roads, she finds herself stranded, alone in her car, without food, drink, or a working charger for her phone.

All seems lost until Sam Attwood, a handsome American stranger also trapped in a nearby car, knocks on her window and offers assistance. What follows is eight perfect hours together, until morning arrives and the roads finally clear. The two strangers part, positive they’ll never see each other again but fate, it seems, has a different plan. As the two keep serendipitously bumping into one another, they begin to realize that perhaps there truly is no such thing as coincidence.

With plenty of charming twists and turns and Lia Louis’s “bold, standout voice” (Gillian McAllister, author of The Good Sister), Eight Perfect Hours is a gorgeously crafted novel that will make you believe in the power of fate.

Sometimes a book comes into your life right at the right time and delivers a feel-good romance. That was Eight Perfect Hours for me. Truly, everything was perfect with respect to the serendipity that the characters experienced when meeting one another. Noelle Butterby has just left her class reunion when she finds herself stranded on the side of the road, in the middle of a blizzard. Her phone is out of juice and so she has no way to reach out to anyone for help. Fortunately for her, there is a car that comes by that contains a handsome American stranger named Sam, who she ends up spending "eight perfect hours" with stranded in the car. After those eight hours, Sam returned to the United States, leaving Noelle heartbroken given the connection she was feeling. Not having gotten his contact information, she figures she'll never see him again. Fast-forward a few weeks and they bump into one another again, a phenomenon that continues to happen over and over again. Are these two really destined to be soulmates? This was such a lovely romance. It gave me Hallmark vibes along with evoking all sorts of emotions. This is one of those books that people who believe in coincidences, soulmates, and fate, are absolutely going to love. It's worth the read.

Eight Perfect Hours is all about synchronicity, serendipitous, coincidental occurrences, or fate. It revolves around one night when Noelle Butterby is on her way back from a college event when a blizzard keeps her stranded until an American comes to her rescue. Sam Attwood comes to Noelle's aid with a charging cord and heated car. His company helped keep her calm and made the eight hours bearable. Soon they find out that they have more things in common, especially one certain event that had changed both their lives.

This book has all the feels. This is the life of a “giver” living in the world of “takers” and surviving but sometimes just squeaking by. Loved the fate theme and the interaction of the characters. Slow in spots, but worth the patience and time spent. Enjoy.
