About this ebook

Move More, Ache Less is a detailed, practical guide to The Desk Worker's Guide to Daily Movement and Joint Health for readers who want a clear path from understanding the topic to using it confidently in real situations. The book is designed as a structured learning companion rather than a shallow overview: it introduces the core ideas, explains why they matter, then develops them through realistic examples, guided practice, scenario-based explanations, and common mistakes to avoid. Readers are taken step by step from foundational concepts into everyday applications, with each chapter building on the previous one so the material feels progressive, usable, and easy to revisit. The main areas of focus include The True Cost of the Sitting Day, How Your Joints Actually Work, Posture Myths Your Chair Salesman Won't Tell You, Anatomy of a Working Day: A Case Study, The Movement Snack System, The Desk Stretch Library, Strength Without the Gym, Make Walking Your Secret Weapon, Your Workstation Is a Health Device, Neck and Shoulders: Break the Slack-Tension Trap, giving the book a concrete learning arc that moves from orientation and confidence-building to applied communication, problem solving, and independent practice. The writing style is direct, supportive, and accessible, making the book suitable for self-study, classroom reinforcement, professional development, or personal improvement. It emphasizes practical understanding over abstract theory, so readers can immediately connect the lessons to conversations, decisions, habits, and challenges they are likely to face outside the page. By the end of the book, readers should have not only a stronger grasp of the subject, but also a collection of repeatable strategies, useful language patterns, mental models, and practical routines they can continue applying after they finish reading.

About the author

Lee Percy is a certified ergonomics assessment specialist, movement coach, and the author of *Move More, Ache Less*. After fifteen years as a software engineer — a career spent almost entirely in a chair — Percy watched his own lower back give out and set out to understand why so many capable, active people feel broken by the end of a workday. That question became a new career. He has since performed hundreds of workstation assessments for startups, large companies, and remote workers, and has led movement-training workshops across North America and Europe.

Percy's approach is grounded in one conviction: good health advice must fit between meetings, not require them. He believes movement should be small, frequent, and woven into the day you actually live — a philosophy he tests daily at his own desk, where a timer still reminds him to stand, stretch, and walk before his joints ask for it. He writes regularly about sedentary-work science and practical joint health for wellness publications and company newsletters.

When he is not writing or consulting, Percy can be found on a trail, in a pool, or chasing his two dogs around Portland, Oregon — usually testing a new mobility exercise he plans to put in his next book.
