Crushed: A Redemption Novel

I won't say how it all plays out or give away the OMG-you-have-to-read-it scene when he finally faces the man who fathered him, but I will say that Crushed is a well-written, thoroughly entertaining story, and while the Ugly Duckling thing has been done countless times before, Lauren Layne certainly does it right. It's funny, sweet, and pretty damned sexy, and once things get going with Michael and Chloe, it's impossible to put it down. After finding out the man Michael called “father” was not his biological father he decides to find him. He moves to Dallas and becomes a tennis instructor. He befriends the Bellamy sisters in the hope they would lead him to his half-brother Devon, which would then lead him to his father. While he set his sights on Kristin, he meets her sister Chloe. Michael sees Chloe has a crush on Devon. But Devon is dating her sister. Michael sets out to help Chloe get her man. After spending time together, they soon realize they are developing feelings for each other. But Chloe is not the typical woman Michael is interested in. She is feisty, mouthy, and funny! Sometimes you didn’t know what was going to come out of her mouth. But somehow Chloe’s fantastic humor and curvy body win him over. Michael sees Chloe for who she is. It took them a long time to get together, which is rather nice. It is not one of the books where they jump in bed with each the day they meet. Their feelings develop slowly. Sex scenes are not too descriptive. I loved how all the character from previous books come into play at the end. If you are looking for good clean read and great story then this is for you.

Loved Loved Loved this book!! I've loved this entire series but this is truly my favorite. The added characters in this book were great. I adore the always chipper and snarky Chloe. She's a perfect match for the brooding Michael. He was always my least favorite character but this book changed all that! This is truly a fantastic read and one I definitely recommend for everyone's must read list.
