About this ebook

In this gripping novel in #1 New York Times bestselling author Laurell K. Hamilton's Merry Gentry series, the first faerie princess born on American soil becomes a mother—and a target for turmoil and intrigue…

Merry Gentry, ex–private detective and full-time princess, is now the mother of triplets, a rarity in the high ranks of faerie. And not everyone is happy about it, including Taranis, King of Light and Illusion. He’s using the human courts to sue for visitation rights, claiming that one of the babies is his.

To save herself and her children, Merry will use the most dangerous powers in all of faerie: a god of death, a warrior known as the Darkness, the Killing Frost, and a king of nightmares. They are her lovers, and her dearest loves, and they will face down the might of the high courts of faerie—while trying to keep the war from spreading to innocent humans in Los Angeles, who are in danger of becoming collateral damage.

Meh, I feel like she spent so much time on satellite characters that the core story didn't really move along. Is the author implying Merry has become a goddess without explicitly saying so? Then, a traumatic event with Sholto, bad news for Frost and the story essentially ends. Untangling the paternity of the babies gave me premature wrinkles. There must be another Merry Gentry book after this to tie things together.

I was excited to start reading this and about halfway through I started to have angry fits of insanity. Things that she was adamant about in the first 5 books suddenly aren't so in this book and this book is so repetitive I skipped about 30 % of things i as a loyal reader of the series did not need reiterated. She killed this story and didn't really say anything about merry's fate. There are so many questions that need to be answered but to be honest the series is ruined for me. Genuinely sad :(

I finally give up. I gave up on the Anita Blake series because it became nothing but sex. No storyline worth reading. I thought I was safe with Merry, but no. This book must've been written over years and every time she picked the novel back up she forgot what she wrote before. It is so repetitious. "I was with my Uncle" ... "You mean Tyrannis, King of Light?" . FFS of COURSE she does! We know Frost was Jack Frost. We know that Doyle was the Queen's Darkness. Please don't say this over and over every few chapters! And for the love everything holy PLEASE eliminate "as is" from your vocabulary!!!! Every couple of pages. Ugh
