About this ebook

The sweeping final chapter of the Sister Bells Trilogy takes the Hekne family into the dark trial of World War II.

By the 1930s, the isolated valley of Butangen is gradually yielding to modern life. Electricity, motor engines, and news from abroad reach deep into the Norwegian mountains, eroding the ancient traditions that once protected the community.

When foreign forces invade and occupy Norway during World War II, Butangen is pushed to its physical and moral limits. As neighbor turns against neighbor and survival requires terrible sacrifices, the lingering mysteries of the Hekne bloodline return to the surface. The lost prophecy of the twin bells demands a final reckoning over loyalty, heritage, and memory.

The Night of the Scourge brings Lars Mytting’s internationally acclaimed saga to a breathtaking, deeply moving conclusion.

Praise for The Sister Bells Trilogy:

"A rare literary accomplishment... The trilogy is a sprawling saga that evokes both James Michener in its sheer breadth and Ken Follett in its detail and brilliant historical storytelling." — BookBub
