About this ebook

He's been waiting for his chance. She's finally ready to take it.

Levi Harrison

Being the youngest in a generational law enforcement family means everyone else is always up in my business. Instead of joining the police department, I decide to branch out. Fish and Wildlife is really where my heart is.

My mom loves it because she believes it's safer.

My dad just appreciates that I'm continuing the legacy.

My sister enjoys telling people she pisses off that her dad and brother carry weapons.

What none of them know is that my partner, Dakota, and I are undercover on one of the most dangerous operations that Laurel Springs has ever seen. And in the midst of that, I'm protecting the one woman I've always wanted, Magnolia Grace, from her husband who has his hands in all of it.

Magnolia Grace Handler

Life should be perfect for me. My business as a treat maker for the town of Laurel Springs has taken off. I've finally decided to leave my husband, who hurt me in ways I've never been able to talk about publicly, and I'm coming into my own as a woman about to hit her thirties.

But just when I find my footing, my husband threatens to crush it all.

In steps my best friend's little brother. I've always known Levi Harrison as Molly's little brother, but when he offers protection I don't want to ask for but desperately need, I start to see him as the man who could change my life forever.

Levi is third generation of Law Enforcement in Laurel Springs. Magnolia is his sister's bestvfriend and teenage love. It is an engaging story of fear, control and hurt is interspersed with loving, caring and safety. A relationship that is based on truth and trust, kindness and stability. Levi's family dynamics are Magnolia's beliefs for marriage, and he is determined to share it all. A story of secrets, danger and excitement, taking chances and understanding.

I enjoyed this latest book by Laramie, the first of a new series. The book was easy to read and kept me hooked so I finished it fairly quickly. I thought Levi and Magnolia made a cute couple (though after a while, his habit of calling her Magnolia Grace all the time grated slightly) and it was nice to see them getting their HEA, especially after Magnolia having to put up with so much from Cody (the soon to be ex husband) and Levi carrying a torch for her for so long.

I loved Levi and Magnolia's journey and how it evolved. This white-collar romance is filled with drama and heartfelt scenes that had me connecting with these two as Levi goes undercover to capture illegal breeders and protect the woman that he loves. It is a well written book filled with twists and turns that had me caught up in the story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
