I'd give Dark Angel by L.J. Smith a 4.5 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed this book. It pulled me in right from the beginning and kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. The mystery around Angel was my favorite part because I was never sure if he was trying to help Gillian or if he had his own agenda. That made the story feel suspenseful without being too scary. I also liked seeing Gillian grow more confident as the story went on. The romance was sweet, but it didn't take over the whole plot, which I appreciated. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I wish it had been a little longer. Some parts, the ending, felt a bit rushed. I think Dark Angel is a great read if you like supernatural romance with a little mystery and suspense. I recommend it.
