The Gambit invites you to join . . . are you game?

A Quest can’t trust anyone in this world—except for a Quest. At least that’s what’s been drilled into seventeen-year-old Rosalyn Quest since practically birth. And for good reason—Ross is part of a legendary family of thieves who have built their fortunes collecting ill-gotten gains by pulling the ultimate heists. But Ross is tired of it. She wants more out of life, but on the night she plans her escape, her mother is kidnapped. Ross should have known payback would come sooner or later.

In a desperate bid to save her mother, Ross enters the Thieves’ Gambit, a high-stakes competition for the world’s best up-and-coming thieves, where the winner is granted one wish—for anything you want.

Ross only wants to save her mother’s life, and she’s playing to win. But in a globetrotting game full of dangerous, escalating trials where killing isn’t exactly off-limits, Ross must use all her skills to outsmart her cunning and cutthroat competitors, including her childhood nemesis and a handsome, smooth-talking boy who might also be making a play for her heart.

This was a pretty wild ride into the world of thieves and their families and all the twists and betrayals that come with it. Ross Quest is told time and again by her mother not to trust anyone who is not a Quest. But in order to win the Thieves Gambit she puts that to the test. There are times I had to suspend my disbelief (like the ransom being a billion dollars) but the heists were entertaining and so incredibly twisty (that sarcophagus!) that it was still a fun read.

This is one of those books that I wish I could just sit and read in one binge reading session. There is so much action, so many twists, so much suspense, and a bit of swoon that I never wanted to stop reading. The characters are amazing--so well drawn and so different from one another it was easy to keep them apart. But, I had to pay attention to the finer details to really enjoy the fun inside and participate in the heist. In other words, this novel is so well plotted and has perfect pacing

I really enjoyed this one up until the end. The suspense kept me very interested but the ending fell very flat and left me disappointed.
