Arlington knew her family was in trouble when she was younger though she never expected them to be the way they were as she got older. As soon as she was old enough to leave, she did so for her own safety more than theirs. They had a bunch of rules for themselves that never made any sense to her. Teh number one was never to get the police involved in anything having to do with the family. Both of her parents tried hard to drill this into all of their children's lives. That was a problem for Arly though. She worked for law enforcement in a way that made her have to deal with them all.
She had started her new life in a new place and with new people. Seh had very little contact with people back home until one of her nephews calls in a panic. They can not find one of the children in the family and as she was speaking to them they found the child. He was unresponsive and as she walked them through what to do Arly's friend, Matt, made the call to get help there as soon as possible.
As soon as that call was made she knew there would be a major problem with her family. When she had to go back to the area shortly after because of the other events that unfolded she knew it was time to cut the ties and let them all know that their rules were dumb. The truth though was worse than anything she could have thought of.
