About this ebook
Elena’s friend is a good artist—could she be one too? Cue frustration—and perseverance!—when at first she does not succeed, but draws, draws again.
The endearing elephant from Elena Rides and Elena Camps tackles another new experience—and learns to be patient with herself, cheered on by her loyal sidekick—in this dual-language early reader from Pura Belpré Award–winning creator Juana Medina. Elena has pulled out paper and crayons and is ready to throw herself into her drawing. But no matter how much her little friend compliments her work (Lovely blue! Nice shapes!), Elena decides that she doesn’t like her drawing one bit. Will Elena ever be able to draw like her friend, or is there another way to achieve her goal? A relatable story told with bold, expressive illustrations and spare, engaging text, sure to compel beginning readers. This dual-language edition contains the story in both English and Spanish: read it from the Elena Draws side for the English text, then flip the book over to the Elena dibuja side to read it in Spanish.
