About this ebook

Bad boy Jed Hamilton is ex-special Forces and a current undercover recovery agent who's mentally and physically tough, a lone wolf and, above all, violently allergic to commitment, permanence, and anything wedding related.
So when he learns, in the very sexy McKenna Dixon’s bridal salon, that his younger sister is getting married and wants him to be her “man of honor”, Jed wishes he was anywhere but in Cape Town. Especially now that he'll be spending more time around the one woman who makes him consider perilous phrases like “what if” and “maybe”…
McKenna Dixon loves bad boys, but her past experience with the species has led to nothing but pain and heartbreak. Jed Hamilton is exactly the type of man she should avoid, but when a nasty incident threatens her and her daughter, Jed immediately appoints himself as their protector, even though it’s not a part of his job description.
McKenna is determined not to allow another bad boy to flip her life inside out, and Jed is determined to retain his bachelor status and to keep travelling and working. But, as they both discover, love does its best work when busy making other plans…

I liked the book and the storyline. I figured out the bad guy way too quickly and fell in love with Jed just as quickly. This is so my thing the ex-military alpha male who finds his woman and not only falls in love with her but her daughter and action in one story. I just felt that it needed some work. Another book is in the works so I'm super excited!

This story held my attention, had great characters and is left open for another book or two! McKenna has bad luck with bad boys, and the only good thing that has came from those experiences is her daughter Daisy. While working and living with her cousin, McKenna's life is going good, until the day she meets Jed and sparks start to fly between them. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is one of the type I label "Protector" romances. These are the kind in which ex-military heroes who are highly skilled in military special operations services latch onto a hapless, hot, threatened but entirely eligible woman whom he protects but also falls in love with. Joss writes an immensely appealing version set in South Africa featuring an ex-SAS now privately employed in the quasi legal action sector for the super wealthy or governments. The sweet, vivacious, single mom is receiving threatening calls, texts, and emails from an unknown source. The characters are delectable, the action brisk, the action devious, and the resolution is surprising. Great read!
