Sorry to say that I just couldn't engaged in it even though I had such high hopes. The style seemed so pedantic yet convoluted. The man had a poor self image and felt isolated for most of his life yet provided us with such wonders. I requested and received a temporary digital ARC of this book from Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
