About this ebook

A British war correspondent moves to New Zealand hoping to jettison the experiences and trauma of his years in war zones. But he has not counted on a refugee enclave called Gaza, HAMAS and the Israel Defence Force. Inevitably his past preoccupations with war leads him slowly back to following the Gaza conflict and inextricably he becomes more enmeshed in the war, his own emotional ambivalence and a certainty that he must finally confront his personal ghosts. He quickly progresses from curiosity to contacting a Medicine Sans Frontieres colleague in Jordan, Dr Alena Azis. Then to visiting Jordan and on to Jerusalem to contact a wayward character name Beni Levitz, and finally by devious means into Gaza itself. It is there that he finally meets the ghosts he has come in search of , but they are not what he has envisaged and overwhelmed by the revelation he realizes he own death is the next final step in his journey.
