About this ebook

In this stunning conclusion to the Orphan Queen duology, New York Times bestselling coauthor of My Plain Jane Jodi Meadows follows Wilhelmina’s breathtaking and brave journey from orphaned criminal on the streets to magic-wielding queen.

This epic fantasy duology is perfect for fans of Graceling by Kristin Cashore, The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson, and Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo.

Princess Wilhelmina is ready for her crown, but declaring herself queen means war. Her magic is uncontrollable and now there’s a living boy made of wraith—destructive and deadly, and willing to do anything for her.

Caught between what she wants and what is right, Wilhelmina realizes the throne might not even matter. Everyone thought the wraith was years off, but already it’s destroying Indigo Kingdom villages. Princess Wilhelmina’s ability might be just the thing to help reclaim her kingdom—or ruin it forever.

  • A Lost Princess Reclaiming Her Throne: From orphaned criminal to rightful heir, Wilhelmina must ignite a war to win back her crown from the kingdom that conquered her people.
  • Secret Identity and Vigilante Justice: By day a princess navigating deadly court politics, by night she is Black Knife, a vigilante fighting for justice—a secret that could be her greatest weapon or her final undoing.
  • Forbidden Romance with a Rival Prince: She's supposed to be his enemy, but the line between hate and love blurs with Crown Prince Tobiah, an unlikely ally who might be the one man she can never have.
  • An Unpredictable Magical Companion: She commands a boy made of living wraith—a powerful, destructive creature whose dangerous devotion could be the key to her victory or the source of her ultimate ruin.

This book was both emotional and heart racing. One day I will definitely read it over again, and again, and again. Same with the first one. Except that this one seemed a lot longer than the first one which made you have to remember everything that happened in this book and the one before it. I loved this book and I'm afraid it will be hard to find a book that is just as good.

Perfect follow up with a perfect ending! Again, not an avid reader and finished both books in less than a month. Found a favorite author.
