About this ebook

Multiobjective Optimization of Smooth Functionals: Application to Aeronautics provides classical adjoint formulations and gradient-based or gradient-free numerical techniques in multiobjective optimization subject to partial differential equations. The author formally develops the gradients of smooth functionals in representative situations for computational purposes and discusses numerical approaches in multiobjective optimization. These approaches, including two original methods that go beyond a classical course, provide guidance in solving specific problems. This book also provides test cases in simulation and optimization typical of aeronautical engineering problems as well as exercises.
