**Janice Frazier** is a technology educator, curriculum designer, and lifelong tinkerer who has spent more than fifteen years helping young people discover the joy of building with technology. She has taught computer science, robotics, and design thinking in classrooms, afterschool programs, and summer camps, working with learners from elementary school through high school.
Janice created her first AI workshop in 2017, after a group of students asked whether a computer could learn to tell their dogs apart. That question sparked a mission: to make artificial intelligence understandable, hands-on, and fun for every young learner. Her AI literacy programs have since been used by hundreds of schools and community organizations, and she has trained thousands of educators to bring AI projects into their classrooms.
She is a frequent speaker at education conferences and a contributor to STEM publications, where she writes about project-based learning, computational thinking, and responsible technology use. *AI Adventures for Young Builders* is her first book, written for young makers who want to understand the technology shaping their world — and build some of it themselves.
Janice lives in Portland, Oregon, with her family, an overenthusiastic rescue dog, and a robot vacuum she has trained to avoid the dog's food bowl. When she isn't teaching or writing, you'll find her photographing squirrels in the park and feeding them to an image classifier she's training in her spare time. She believes every child deserves to know that they don't just use technology — they can create it.
