The Lighthouse at Steepleton Bay

'Beautifully written and both heartbreaking and heartwarming' Jessica Redland

Recently divorced Tabitha is nursing a broken heart when her fiercely protective older sister, Essie, suggests a relaxing getaway at a dreamy Dorset lighthouse.

But what’s supposed to be a fortnight of sisterly bonding, late-night catch-ups and leaving the past behind is instantly upended when Essie’s high-maintenance friend Lily crashes the holiday. Not forgetting the inconvenient fact that their picturesque coastal haven is marooned from the mainland by the tide twice a day.

Then there’s Matthew, the enigmatic host living in the adjoining coastguard cottage. With his self-proclaimed anti-social tendencies but unassuming charm, he’s a mystery. And despite Lily's dramatic suspicions about his secret second job, Tabitha finds herself increasingly drawn to him.

But when a fierce storm floods the causeway and Tabitha uncovers the real reason behind Essie’s sleepless nights, the tranquil retreat takes a more sinister turn. It’s now Tabitha’s opportunity to find the strength to support her sister, with Matthew standing by her side as an unexpected ally. When the skies finally clear, will Tabitha be ready to let go of her past and open her heart to love once more?
