About this ebook

A double-booked cabin. A raging blizzard. And a massive, grumpy mountain man who just became my accidental roommate.

I am the queen of holding things together. As a single mom working round-the-clock freelance jobs, my life is a relentless schedule of deadlines and toddler negotiations. Renting a remote mountain cabin for a week was supposed to be a reset.

What I didn't plan for was the GPS dying, driving through a whiteout blizzard, and finding a huge, terrifyingly attractive, shirtless man standing in my rental kitchen.

Bear Morrison is a solitary woodworker who doesn't "do" kids. He owns the cabin, and a platform glitch means we're double-booked. But with the roads closed and the snow piling up, he can't turn a desperate mother and her four-year-old daughter out into the freezing cold.

He sets the ground rules: we stay in the guest wing, we share the kitchen, and we stay out of his way.

But Bear’s actions don't match his gruff exterior. Soon, he's making scrambled eggs with cheese for my daughter, reading her bedtime stories in a voice that shakes my foundations, and fixing things I didn't even have to ask him to fix. And when the power goes out and we are forced to share a fire, the simmering tension between us ignites. His hands on my waist make me forget every reason I built my walls.

I’m terrified of hoping for a future, and Bear is convinced he's a man who doesn't know how to stay. But as the snow starts to melt and the roads open, we have to decide if this was just a vacation mistake, or if a booking error gave us exactly what we both needed.
