This was a nice quick read. I really love the cats in the book. Melissa is dealing with her grandma's loss and trying to hold on her bookstore. Jeff is running from his life back in New York. Jeff finds something in Melissa that brings a light back in his life and he wants to hold to it, but he's lying to her about who he is. There were some funny moments in this one especially the ladder scene. Looking forward to more from this series.

Hope Ramsay and the Chapel of Love series are new to me. The blurb drew me in, the characters made me stay. A Fairytale Bride has an understated beauty that is both sentimental and irresistible. It's short enough to finish in one sitting. Melissa wants to hold on to her only lasting connection to a family that seems lost to her. Orphaned at a young age and having recently lost her most fearless cheerleader, she is left with her grandma's most prized possession, her bookstore. She dreams of making it successful but having a hard time doing so. Enter Jeff. Seeking to lick his wounds after a career disaster Jeff stumbles into her bookstore and everything changes. A Fairytale Bride has much to recommend it. Hope Ramsay has created people that are easy to relate to in a story that is well written and heartwarming to experience.

Jeff's hiding. Melissa's struggling. Actually, they're both struggling, now that I think about it, just differently. Jeff's downfall cost him his job, the life he'd known, and left him feeling lost. He has no idea who he is now that his career's over. Melissa's loss has left her floundering in dimly lit waters and the only rescue boat in sight is one she doesn't want to board. She's hoping for another way out but it's looking more and more like there isn't one. When these two meet in the bookstore, the attraction isn't instant. Jeff's caginess about who he is, where he's staying, where he's from, puts this gigantic "DO NOT APPROACH" sign over his head that would make others think twice about getting up close and personal. Not Melissa. *smile* She asked, made small talk, made comments. She observed and listened. Nothing about Jeff went unnoticed. Given that Jeff is part of the family looking to buy Melissa's inheritance, I wondered how she'd react when she found that out. Ms. Ramsay handled that revelation with flare and lots of emotion. The conflict and resolution that came about was eye-opening, and I breathed a sigh of relief when everything worked out. This is a quick read, just 1219 locations on my Kindle, but it was a good read. The characters are interesting, primary and secondary. The situations both Jeff and Melissa are in are relatable. Their romance wasn't off the charts, fireworks exploding for me but it was beautiful nonetheless. A great opener for this series I hope others will enjoy like I did. 3.5* Received from author via publisher for an honest review
