About this ebook

Step into the dramatic world of the Tudor dynasty, the royal house that ruled England from 1485 to 1603 and transformed the course of British history.

Beginning with Henry VII, who seized the throne after the Wars of the Roses at the Battle of Bosworth Field, this sweeping history traces the rise of the Tudors from civil war to imperial ambition. Explore the reign of Henry VIII, whose break with Rome, Act of Supremacy, and establishment of the Church of England triggered the English Reformation and permanently altered the religious and political landscape of 16th-century England.

Discover the short but significant reign of Edward VI, the Protestant reforms that reshaped English worship, and the tragic succession crisis that elevated Lady Jane Grey. Witness the turbulent rule of Mary I, remembered for her attempt to restore Catholicism and the Marian persecutions, before entering the remarkable Elizabethan era.

Under Elizabeth I, England faced the threat of Catholic Europe, internal rebellion, and the Spanish Armada, yet emerged as a rising Protestant power. Her reign marked a golden age of exploration, cultural achievement, and political consolidation.

Through meticulous research and vivid storytelling, this book explores the personalities, power struggles, religious upheaval, and dynastic tensions that defined the Tudor period. From the aftermath of the Plantagenets to the dawn of Stuart England, this is an essential guide to the monarchs who reshaped the English monarchy, church, and nation itself.

Perfect for readers of British history, royal biography, and early modern Europe, this compelling account brings the Tudor monarchs to life within the wider context of European politics and religious reform.
