Gurvan, a clone soldier of the Terran Coalition, was designed to participate in an age-old space conflict...the origins of which have been long forgotten. Deep in space sits The Materedu, where the soldiers of the Terran Coalition are cloned from the best who came before them, and trained under an artificial sun to fight in the endless conflict with a fearsome foe. Among them, average combat pilot Gurvan dreams of surviving the seven years each Coalition fighter must serve, so that he may retire to the distant peace of Earth. But when Gurvan crosses paths with an opposing soldier, he begins to wonder if he knows his enemy... or even his allies. Explore the distant stars in this rare translation and adaptation of legendary French science-fiction writer P.-J. Hérault’s Gurvan, in English for the first time!

Born in 1934 and died in 2020, Michel Rigaud, known as Paul-Jean Hérault, was a French novelist. First the author of spy novels in the early 1970s with Fleuve Noir, he quickly moved to science fiction with the saga Cal de Ter whose first volume was published in 1975. Deeply marked by the Algerian war, his work is characterized by the representation of war, described through the prism of its emptiness and the author's aversion to violence.

Born in 1978 in Paris, Mathieu Mariolle is a comic book scriptwriter who has been immersed in classic Franco-Belgian comics such as Blueberry, The Incal and Les Passagers du Vent since his early childhood. He then worked on a large number of series of very different styles and genres: the crime thriller Sang froid (Delcourt), the comic book adaptation of Foot 2 Rue (Soleil), the spin-off saga The World of Thorgal: Kriss of Valnor (Le Lombard), the eponymous works of the video artist Nota Bene (Soleil) specializing in historical popularization, and the historical thriller The Final Secret of Adolf Hitler (Humanoids). Mathieu Mariolle currently lives in Essonne.

She then took the lead on Big Dog Ink's Knightingail project, producing the third series, entitled "Dawn of Destiny". In the same years, she worked on Jabal Entertainment's graphic novel, Blades of Hope.
