About this ebook

“One of America’s greatest storytellers” (Stephen King) and the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Southern Man and the Natchez Burning trilogy returns to his roots in this breathtaking novel of murder and redemption set in New Orleans and Natchez, Mississippi.

Some memories live deep in the soul, indelible and dangerous, waiting to be resurrected…

Forensic expert “Cat” Ferry is suspended from an FBI task force when she is inexplicably stricken with panic attacks and blackouts while investigating a chain of brutal murders. Returning to her Mississippi hometown, Cat finds herself battling with alcohol, plagued by nightmares, and entangled with a married detective. Then, in her childhood bedroom, some spilled chemicals reveal two bloody footprints…and the trauma of her father’s murder years earlier comes flooding back. Facing the secrets of her past, Cat races to connect them to a killer’s present-day violence. But what emerges is the frightening possibility that Cat herself has blood on her hands…

“As Southern Gothic as it gets” (Kirkus Reviews), Greg Iles’s Blood Memory “will have readers turning pages at a breakneck pace” (New Orleans Times-Picayune).

Wow...this book was a lengthy one and the longest I've read to date. It has two stories going on at once; investigating murders and let's just say family issues! Yeah, family issues😳. The topics in this book are violent and DISTURBING! It follows forensic expect "Cat" Ferry through her troubled career and personal life. The bad decisions made by this character are staggering. The danger she finds herself in is irresponsible. In a span of a few days she uncovers so much disturbing details that go into what makes her so damaged. Every aspect of this book is horrifying without any supernatural aspects involved. It was definitely an eye opening book as to what may be happening in certain households and the generational damage it imparts on those directly and indirectly affected. A warning to those that may want to read it, thread lightly, very disturbing content! 4.25/5.

Not to minimize the seriousness of the subject matter, this is not a world I could enjoy escaping into. I read fiction to be entertained and this novel is too disturbing to be entertaining. It does make me wonder about some of the women I've known.......

This was my very first Greg Iles book. I couldn't put it down!! It's maybe an 600 page book that I literally read in two days. Very exciting, fantastically written!
