Grace Wallace is a novelist, essayist, and writing instructor whose work explores the intersection of ordinary life and profound feeling. She holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and has taught creative writing at the university level for over a decade, developing courses on emotional craft, narrative voice, and revision. Her debut novel, *The Weight of Small Things*, was a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award and was praised by critics for its “quiet devastation and intimate precision.” Her short fiction and essays have appeared in *The Atlantic*, *Ploughshares*, *The Sun*, and *McSweeney’s*, among other publications. Grace lives in Portland, Oregon, where she leads a long-running community workshop for emerging writers and serves on the board of a nonprofit dedicated to bringing creative writing programs into public schools. She believes that the most important stories are the ones that help us feel less alone, and she has spent her career helping writers find the courage to tell those stories with honesty and heart.
