關於本電子書

Frame the Story is a detailed, practical guide to Composition and Storytelling in Street Photography for readers who want a clear path from understanding the topic to using it confidently in real situations. The book is designed as a structured learning companion rather than a shallow overview: it introduces the core ideas, explains why they matter, then develops them through realistic examples, guided practice, scenario-based explanations, and common mistakes to avoid. Readers are taken step by step from foundational concepts into everyday applications, with each chapter building on the previous one so the material feels progressive, usable, and easy to revisit. The main areas of focus include See the Frame, See the Story, The Decisive Moment, Remastered, The Geometry of the Street, Light as a Character, Layers of Intent, A Frame Within a Frame, Color Story or Black and White, Close Encounters with Strangers, The Minimal Street Kit, Masterclasses from the Masters, giving the book a concrete learning arc that moves from orientation and confidence-building to applied communication, problem solving, and independent practice. The writing style is direct, supportive, and accessible, making the book suitable for self-study, classroom reinforcement, professional development, or personal improvement. It emphasizes practical understanding over abstract theory, so readers can immediately connect the lessons to conversations, decisions, habits, and challenges they are likely to face outside the page. By the end of the book, readers should have not only a stronger grasp of the subject, but also a collection of repeatable strategies, useful language patterns, mental models, and practical routines they can continue applying after they finish reading.

關於作者

Cherie Fisbeck is a Seattle-based street photographer, writer, and educator whose work explores the quiet choreography of everyday public life. For over two decades she has hunted the city's light — the raking edges of late afternoon, the reflections in storefront glass, the rhythm of commuters crossing a square — to build photographs that balance decisive gesture with deliberate structure. Her photographs have been exhibited in galleries and juried shows across the Pacific Northwest, including solo and group exhibitions in Portland, Spokane, and Seattle, and her essays on seeing, composition, and the ethics of the candid frame have appeared in photography journals and on her long-running teaching newsletter, *Frame by Frame*.

A passionate advocate for the craft, Fisbeck has led street photography workshops, portfolio reviews, and public walkshares for universities, camera clubs, and photography centers throughout North America, where her students learn to read light, build layered frames, and find their own voice amid the noise of the street. She believes the camera is an instrument of attention first and a tool of capture second — a belief that shapes both her images and her teaching. Her project *Waiting for Rain* chronicles a year of Seattle weather and the strangers who lived through it, and she is currently at work on a long-form series about transit stations after midnight. When she is not photographing, she is likely re-reading collected works of Saul Leiter and defending the importance of the ordinary. She lives in Seattle with a large collection of umbrellas and no shortage of gray skies to photograph
