FUNDAMENTALS OF PHYSICS, Part Two, contains the second semester material of a four-semester physics course for students of physics and other natural and engineering sciences that require a solid basic knowledge of physics. This second volume offers students an in-depth introduction to electromagnetism. Following a brief introduction to the subject and the mathematical tools required for electromagnetism, the subsequent twelve chapters cover: the fundamentals of electrostatics and electrostatic fields; the behavior of bodies in electric fields and of electric fields within bodies; the properties of dielectric matter; the fundamentals of magnetostatics and magnetic fields; the magnetic moment and electromagnetic induction; the properties of magnetic matter; direct and alternating current; time-dependent electric and magnetic fields; and electromagnetic waves.

The author was born 1962 in Vienna, Austria grew up in Salzburg and studied physics in Munich. His career in the semiconductor industry brought him to the United States in the late 1990's where he eventually worked for some 20 years in leading edge R&D in Austin TX, Livermore CA, and Albany NY. Currently, the author and his wife Brigitte live in Albany NY.
