About the Author
Alice Brown is a language educator, translator, and the author of *Everyday Spanish Conversations*. Over more than fifteen years of teaching adult learners, she has helped students prepare for travel, relocate for work, and connect with Spanish-speaking friends and families. She holds a master's degree in applied linguistics and has taught in both Mexico and Spain, where she specialized in helping intermediate students break through the plateau between survival Spanish and confident, natural fluency.
Her teaching approach—grounded in real conversation, cultural context, and the patient use of language rather than endless grammar drills—grew directly out of thousands of lessons where students already knew the rules and still struggled to speak. Alice has written for language-learning publications, developed conversation course material for online academies, and led workshops for teachers of Spanish as a second language.
When she is not writing or teaching, she is usually collecting idioms from her favorite Spanish-language podcasts, cooking through a Mexican cookbook, or planning the next trip that lets her test new material in the field. *Everyday Spanish Conversations* is the resource she wishes she could have handed to every student who ever asked, "How do I stop sounding like a textbook?"
