I liked charming, this was pretty good too. Who doesnt love a smart smartass? Plus he's clever, which IS different from smart. Wish it was more detailed, a longer book, maybe describe the stuff happening a bit better. And fictional characters or no, I woulda expected sig and john to go at it. But all in all, it good. Can't wait for 3rd book!

This was a very well written and dryly funny book. The genre is well-established, and James has come up with an interesting tweak on the urban fantasy theme, but there is nothing earth-shatteringly original in the lore of this world. The strength in this book is the wonderfully understated humor of the writing. The first book was good. This one is better.
