About this ebook

All it takes is one nightmare to break a friendship.

Cade

Living with your best friend slash roommate slash love of your life can get complicated.

Haines and I shared an apartment, a class schedule, and all of our groceries. But he didn’t know I was in love with him and have been for years.

Today, one of my usual nightmares drove me out of bed and onto our fire escape, gasping deep breaths of cold air to calm the jackhammering heart in my chest.

But as always, Haines found me.

I want so badly for him to let me keep him once morning comes.

Falling for My Best Friend is a 3,000-word short LGBTQ+ romance with hurt/comfort, healing from trauma, and the bond between friends that grows into something more. FFMBF is an MM friends-to-lovers romance with the fun omg-they-were-roommates vibes.

It's a vignette in the lives of Cade and Haines. This is a roommates/BFFs to more between 2 sweet as pie boys, plus a dash of hurt/comfort and spice. I really enjoyed what I read, but TBH the brevity felt like a splash of cold water - when the end came, it felt shock. I adore short stories & novellas, I feel like this needed at least a few more pages in order for the end to feel less abrupt & give more depth. Having said that, it was a good read and I'd love to read more in this series.

This is like 20 pages long. Very quick, although not really because of how long they've been friends. I wish it was longer but it's very sweet, low spice, and a little bit emotional.

About the author

Echo Lark (she/they) is a queer writer of LGBTQ+ love stories, where all the focus is on the character’s journey. She is currently writing short romances where characters fall in love fast and follow where their chemistry leads. There’s a mix of sweet and spicy stories, so be prepared to embrace each character/couple!

You can often find them reading other queer stories and obsessing over fanfiction rereads (if you were wondering, it’s fluffy short fics and angsty long fics) and longing for a puppy while she tries to appease her current demon kitten.
