INTRODUCTION PHARMACOGNOSY

Dr Venkata Suresh, Jilakara, M.Pharm, PhD, Professor & Principal at Vathsalya College of Pharmacy, Anatharam, Bhongiri, Telangana. Having 26 + years of teaching & Research experience. He has been serving as National Coordinator, IPA NEC from 2014 to 2024, organised by the IPA Education division. Acted as Co-Chairman, Registration Committee, 68th IPC & received excellence award at 68th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress hosted by IPA in Andhra University, December 16 - 18, 2016. He served as Vice President & Secretary for IPA Local branch Khammam, and organised several professional activities under IPA Education Division. Acted as Co-Chairman, Registration Committee, 73rd Indian Pharmaceutical Congress hosted by the Indian Pharmaceutical Association at Hitex, Hitech City, Hyderabad from July 5–7, 2024. He has completed B. Pharm - 1995, M. Pharm - 1997 from Gulbarga University, & Ph.D. - 2012 from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Life member of Professional bodies, Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India (APTI) & Indian Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (IACP). He has a PhD. - 4, PG around 72 students and published more than 55 original research articles. Chaired so many AICTE-sponsored scientific sessions as a speaker and chairperson.

Dr. Rekha Tarasingh Rajput is a distinguished academician and researcher with over 23 years of combined experience in the pharmaceutical industry and academia. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at the Sharda School of Pharmacy, Sharda University, Agra, she brings a wealth of practical and theoretical knowledge to her writing. An alumna of the prestigious L.M. College of Pharmacy, Ahmedabad, Dr Rajput earned her Master of Pharmacy in Pharmacognosy from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, and completed her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2015. Her academic excellence is underscored by her GPAT qualification and the completion of nine specialized certifications from SWAYAM/NPTEL and MHRD, Government of India. A prolific writer and innovator, Dr Rajput has authored more than 17 books and 2 book chapters, with a research footprint including 41 publications in high-impact Scopus and SCI-indexed journals. Her remarkable portfolio includes 35 patents, four of which have been granted, and she has contributed to the scientific community through 50+ abstract presentations and attendance at 40 national and international conferences. Her core research interests lie in the extraction, isolation, and purification of bioactive compounds from medicinal plants, as well as the advanced development of herbal formulations.

Ms. B. Sweta is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khodasingi, Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha, India. She has one and a half years of teaching experience in D.Pharm and B.Pharm courses. She has completed her B.Pharm from Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha and M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Technology branch from Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha, under Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, Odisha. She has guided several B.Pharm students at the research level. 

Ms. Itishree Maharana is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khodasingi, Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha, India. She has one and a half years of teaching experience in D.Pharm and B.Pharm courses. She has completed her B.Pharm from Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha and M.Pharm in Pharmaceutical Technology branch from Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha, under Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, Odisha. She has guided several B.Pharm students at the research level. 

Dr. Jiten Mishra, currently working as an Associate Professor in Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Khodasingi, Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha, India. He has a rich experience of 16 years in teaching of D. Pharma, B. Pharma & M. Pharma. He was awarded with Ph.D. recently in 2024. He has qualified M. Pharmacy in Pharmaceutical Assurance & Quality Assurance branch from Royal College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, Andhapasara Road, Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha and B. Pharmacy from Royal College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, Andhapasara Road, Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha under Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, Odisha. He has guided many students of M. Pharma & B. Pharma at research level. He has more than 13 international & National Publications, 5 Indian Patent grants, One German Patent Grant, two design Patents, 6 books, 4 book chapters and more than 5 e-books and e- book chapters.

Mr. Digambar Bisoi, currently working as Assistant Professor in Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha. He has a rich Experience of 11 years in teaching of D. Pharm and B. Pharm. He passed both D. Pharm & B. Pharm from Roland Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Berhampur, Odisha & M. Pharm (in Pharmaceutical Analysis & Quality Assurance) from College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mohuda, Berhampur, Ganjam, Odisha, India. He has guided many students of B. Pharmacy at research level. He has more than 8 publications in both National & International SCOPUS Journal. Also, he participated in 8 workshops & Presented 5 posters in different National Conferences. He has more than 4 international & National Publications, 5 Indian Patent grants, One German Patent Grant, two design Patents, Five books, Five book chapters and more than two e- book chapters.
