Here is a collection of my motivational and directional messages on authoring academic books. They answer the questions why should a teacher in an institution of higher learning involve in authoring an academic book? And How to go about authoring keeping in mind the expectations from the book’s perspective readers and the expectations from the prospective publishers?


And in addition to these there is one more chapter (9th one) namely “9. Responses from Professors of Eminence, Teachers, Friends and Team Members on the Initiative and on the Motivational and Directional Communications”.

About the author

Dr. M.T. SOMASHEKARA Ph.D., is with the Department of Computer Science and Applications, Bangalore University, Bengaluru. He has over two decades of teaching experience at both UG and PG levels. He has authored three other books ‘Problem Solving with C, 2E’, ‘Object Oriented Programming with C++ 2E’ and ‘Object Oriented Programming with JAVA’ published by PHI Learning Private Limited, Delhi.  He has several research papers to his credit in national and international journals. He is the life member of ISTE CSI, ISCA and IUPRAI.  His areas of academic interest include Data Structures, Algorithms, Programming Languages, Operating Systems and Databases. His areas of research include Image Processing and Pattern Recognition.
