I read this quote somewhere and was blown away by it, depicted; doing nothing is happiness for children & misery for old men said by Victor Hugo. How beautiful and miserable this statement is that as children grow up and understand life, they lose the sense of being idle in their lives. When the last time was you sit all alone in the wintry sunlight, watching butterflies and feeling the rush and calmness of the wind. I asked myself this question and realized, the world is pacing so swiftly that pausing or resting or doing nothing have now become a sign of failure. The energies of hustle culture push us every moment to do something all the time so we can have the sense that we are doing something in our lives but running all the time is purely a sense of foolishness. If you observe nature, it doesn't hurry yet everything is accomplished and being a writer, I realized, when I hurry I don't remember what I have done because in that muse I forgot to enjoy and the true feeling of the process but did it just for the sake of accomplishing it. It's like you were just born and died later and never understood the peace between life and death.
Remember, being idle is a luxury which only soulful people can handle. If you observe the ancient artists and philosophers, their artwork is purely limited, even Leonardo da Vinci only created around 20 paintings in his entire life in which almost most are incomplete. He was a polymath so how he couldn't complete that work but instead of creating more and more, he utilized his idleness and paused to reflect on how he could make the few perfect. This is really the ultimate level of intelligence where he created Mona Lisa painting and it's not because the painting is so extraordinary in the beginning but when he sat idle and watched it again and again, he found how he could make it close to perfect. That's the true power when you give yourself space to attract the energy of the universe. Idleness is not the power to do nothing but to do anything.
