Silly and Perhaps Educational Food Fun Yes, this is silly, and of course, we're so often told not to play with our food when we are children. But this is certainly a fun and creative way to play with food: making animal faces and insects. Especially if young children are out of school, this could actually be a fun book to springboard into both creativity and learning, as the book shows animals' faces created just with different fruits, vegetables, and foodstuffs (and also candy eyes). You could have fun with it in several ways. You could actually just read through the book, seeing if your child can figure out what each face is made of. Luckily for parents or caregivers, the author tells in the back of the book what makes up every face and insect in the book. Of course, you can choose to attempt to recreate these food faces, which I think the children would really enjoy—and could perhaps get them to eat some healthy fruits and vegetables as they create. You could extend the idea further and see what other animals you can come up with. This book certainly has the potential to be a lot of fun. I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
