Danielle Wilkerson is a language educator, remote work consultant, and lifelong traveler who has lived and worked in seven countries across Latin America and Europe over the past twelve years. She holds a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin and has taught English and Spanish to adult learners in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Spain, and online.
Her approach to language teaching emerged from a simple observation during her first year as a digital nomad: the standard Spanish curriculum taught in classrooms and apps was almost entirely misaligned with what remote workers actually needed to communicate. She began developing task-based, situation-specific materials for the coworking spaces and nomad communities she passed through, and the positive response led her to formalize the method into the curriculum that became *Nomad Spanish*.
Danielle has consulted with remote-first companies including Automattic, Buffer, and Toptal on cross-cultural communication strategies for distributed teams. Her writing on language learning and remote work has appeared in *Remotive Magazine*, *The Remote Work Report*, and the *Digital Nomad Blog*. She is also the creator of the *Work Anywhere, Speak Everywhere* podcast, which features interviews with bilingual remote workers from around the world.
When she isn't writing or teaching, Danielle can be found testing wifi speeds at cafés in Mexico City, hiking the trails outside Medellín, or arguing with Argentine friends about the correct way to conjugate the voseo. She currently splits her time between Austin, Texas, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, and maintains that the best place to learn Spanish is wherever you're brave enough to use it.
