DEVERA KNEPP is a certified parent educator and early childhood development specialist with over fifteen years of experience working with families of young children. She holds a Master's degree in Child Development and Family Studies from Purdue University and is a certified Positive Discipline Trainer through the Positive Discipline Association.
Devera's approach to parenting is rooted in the latest research on child development, attachment theory, and neuroscience. She is known for translating complex developmental concepts into practical, actionable strategies that parents can implement immediately — without guilt, shame, or overwhelm.
Over the course of her career, Devera has worked with thousands of families through private coaching, parenting workshops, and online courses. She has served as a parenting expert for several national publications and has been a featured speaker at early childhood education conferences across the country. Her work has been informed by her training in Emotion Coaching, The Gottman Institute's Bringing Baby Home program, and the Circle of Security parenting model.
Devera is also the mother of two children, now in elementary school, whose toddler years provided her with more real-world lessons than any textbook ever could. She lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with her husband, two children, and a rescue dog named Waffles who has been known to steal socks from laundry baskets.
When she is not writing or coaching parents through toddler meltdowns, Devera enjoys long trail runs, reading literary fiction, and perfecting her sourdough starter. She believes that every parent already has what they need inside them — and that her job is simply to help them find it.
