About this ebook
The second installment after Hush in the paranormal romance Lodestone series from New York Times bestselling author Cherry Adair following the group of men and women who can track down anything and anyone.
When a glamorous wedding reception in Monte Carlo erupts into chaos after the champagne is spiked with a powerful aphrodisiac that destroys guests’ inhibitions, security specialist Rand Maguire—a former stuntman hired to protect the celebrity attendees—quickly realizes this is more than a reckless prank. Suspecting a dangerous chemical agent, he calls on Zak Stark of the covert Lodestone group, who sends former pharmaceutical chemist Dakota North to investigate. Dakota believes the drug used is DL6-94, a highly addictive and potentially lethal substance she helped develop with Rand’s father—the same drug linked to the death of Rand’s mother and his father’s imprisonment, tragedies Rand blames on Dakota. Their tense reunion reopens old wounds, only made worse by their broken engagement two years earlier.
Dakota also possesses a unique psychic ability similar to Zak’s—by touching objects, she can see coordinates that lead her to their owners. This gift sends her and Rand on a dangerous chase from Monte Carlo to Barcelona, leading them into increasingly deadly situations—including exposure to an airborne release of the toxin.
As allies prove questionable and enemies remain elusive, Rand and Dakota must confront both the escalating threat and their unresolved feelings. Amid danger, mistrust, and undeniable attraction, they are forced to decide whether they can survive not only the conspiracy surrounding them—but also the powerful love that still burns between them.
