Mary Romero is Professor in the Chicana and Chicano Studies Program at Arizona State University, and is author of Maid in the U.S.A. (Routledge, 1992). PierretteHondagneu- Sotelo, Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, is the author of Gendered Transitions: Mexican Experiencesof Immigration (1994).
