Bu e-kitap hakkında
In this updated edition, Rowland showcases contemporary approaches to doing Catholic theology.
This edition features a new chapter on liberation theology, which explores Argentinian “People's Theology” as well as Rowland's analysis of the Synod of Synodality. Rowland's work is a valuable guide for students who are seeking to understand the methodological choices that undergird the different approaches to Catholic theology. She succinctly conveys complicated developments and arguments in a clear and nuanced way.
Rowland also offers a summary of the two International Theological Commission documents on the discipline of Catholic theology. The subsequent chapters each focus on different approaches frequently found in contemporary Catholic academies: the approach of Thomists as well as the perspective of the Communio and Concilium mileus.
This concludes with four invaluable appendices: a list of all Doctors of the Church, encyclicals since the 19th century, the documents of the Second Vatican Council, and a list of definitions of the various Christological heresies which were the subject of the debates of the early Church Councils.
This is essential reading for young scholars and seminarians alike.
