Final book in the Whiskey and Lies series and I have been waiting for Loch & Ainsley's story from almost the beginning. I think that everyone but Loch & AInsley knew that they were in love with each other, but when you have such a deep, longtime friendship it can be scary to change the dynamic. What if it doesn't work out? This was an amazing book & I just loved the way the relationship moved & flexed & gave insights into the characters. I loved the epilogue letting you know what came next for the Collins' family.

I have to say, it’s a toss up at this point if I love the Montgomerys or the spin off families more. Carrie Ann Ryan has created a very large and complex world. In the last of the Whiskey and Lies series, we FINALLY get Loch and Ainsley’s story. I’ve been Team Ainsley since Whiskey Secrets. I think she’s a strong female character. The insights we get into her and her past in Whiskey Undone illustrate that fact. While she doesn’t believe she’s enough, she proves time and again she’s more. I wasn’t sure about Loch. Don’t get me wrong, Ryan does growly loner like nobody’s business, but she was playing Loch close to the vest. That made it hard to get a read on him. I will say, I was ready to throat punch him more than once at the beginning of this book. But because Ryan knows what she’s doing, that just made it even sweeter when we finally got to see what Loch was keeping hidden away. Ryan does a great job with the suspense in Whiskey Undone. She keeps you on your toes and guessing. There’s more than once I was on the edge of my seat, and I was up past my bedtime because I just had to know what happened next. Trust me, it was totally worth it. While I’m sad to see the end of the Whiskey and Lies series, Ryan brought yet another amazing family to life. I’m going to miss the Collins and Whiskey, PA.

It seems like all of my favorite Carrie Ann Ryan series are coming to a close! Whiskey Undone is the final book in Ryan’s Whiskey and Lies series. For all three books (which have followed the Collins brothers) I’ve been anxiously awaiting Loch and Ainsley’s story. These two have been best friends for years and Ainsley plays a HUGE role in Loch’s daughter’s life. There could have been pitfalls all around, drama galore, but instead, I found this book rather...tame. Yes, there was peril and the lives of Loch, Ainsley and Misty (Loch's daughter) were in danger but the tension just didn’t get ratcheted up very high for my taste. It all seemed very even-keeled. In thinking through this book it may just be that I had every confidence that Loch, Dare, and Fox would protect Misty and Ainsley no matter what. Perhaps I just have so much confidence in CAR heroes that I know nothing can touch their families :) I kinda hoped that Tabitha and Alex would make an appearance in this book, which they did not. However, even without them showing up, I found the last few chapters of this book to be super satisfying both in terms of this novel and the series as a whole. 2.5/3 stars for Whiskey Undone.
