About this ebook

When a panther shifter delivers a necklace from my dead birth mother, I think it's a joke. But there's nothing funny about the ice and fire the amber stone shoots when I put it on.

I'd love to tell you I handled it well. Reader, I did not.

The online game I've been disappearing into since my adoptive parents died? It isn't just a game. The spells my Dark Sorceress casts in Wizards and Fae work in real life—the ice, the fire, everything. All it took was my mother's talisman to activate my magic. She was a mage who died protecting the talisman, and the shifter brought it to me because I’m her only heir.

Now the assassin who killed her wants the talisman that’s around my neck. The same neck it refuses to be parted from.

And that panther shifter? He had one job: hand me the necklace and disappear. He's very committed to the disappearing part.

He’s just not very good at it.

So now I've got the billionaire creator of Wizards and Fae offering to "protect" me (except his story changes every time I ask a question), a lifetime of magic to learn in a matter of days, and exactly one person I might be able to trust—if he'd stop running from his feelings.

In the online world, I've killed gods. Time to find out what I can do for real, because this is one game I can't afford to lose.

Magic Born is the first book in an urban fantasy series for readers who love gamer heroines, slow-burn shifter romance, and discovering the game you hid inside turns out to be the life you were born for.

The Magic Born series is great for fans of Linsey Hall, Annabel Chase, and Heather G. Harris.

8/10 stars. It started good and then there was a lull, and finally the ending felt rushed. I am undecided on reading the sequel. There was plenty of paranormal and a touch of romance, which was good.
