Fleeced Trail

Discover a Hard-Hitting Western That Cuts Straight to the Bone

In the dusty streets of Harrow Flats, ex-U.S. Marshal Eldridge Sample wants nothing more than a quiet whiskey and a simple courier job.

But when a Romanian immigrant family driving a flock of sheep is brutally ambushed on the open road — father, mother, and grandmother gunned down in cold blood — Sample finds himself pulled back into a world he tried to leave behind.

A sixteen-year-old boy is the sole survivor.

A powerful land agent will stop at nothing to bury the truth.

And the only witness who can bring the killers to justice is riding for his life.

Sample has one choice left: deliver the boy to safety… or deliver justice the old way.

Fleeced Trail is a lean, relentless Western in the tradition of Elmore Leonard and Cormac McCarthy — tight prose, moral weight, and action that never lets up.

Why Readers Are Calling It “Unputdownable”

A stoic, battle-scarred hero who lives by a simple code in a lawless land

Vivid, authentic frontier detail — from the smell of lanolin on sheep to the click of .44-40 casings

A young survivor who refuses to break, carrying the weight of his family’s dream

Twisting conspiracy of greed, corrupt officials, and hired guns

Tense shootouts, smart tracking, and a final confrontation that lands like a hammer

Perfect for fans of Louis L’Amour, William W. Johnstone, Elmore Leonard’s Westerns, C.J. Box, and gritty frontier revenge tales.

From the Pages of Fleeced Trail

“Pick it up,” Sample said.

The young cowboy looked at him. “You talking to me?”

“You knocked it over.”

Sample hadn’t raised his voice. He was still looking out the window. “Broken glass is everybody’s business.”

And later, at the burned wagon:

He collected the rosary beads one by one and placed them in his shirt pocket.

He did not know why he did this. He did it anyway.
