About this ebook

Drop of Doubt is the fifth book in The Academy Ghost Bird Series.

Sang Sorenson and the Academy boys return to Ashley Waters High School but before they get a chance to even settle in, Sang’s life is threatened by an anonymous caller.

They retreat to the protective walls of the Morgan estate, a safe house for when the boys are under fire. But when new threats can break through those barriers that once kept them secure, it leaves Kota, Victor, Silas, Nathan, Gabriel, Luke and North rushing to figure out who is hunting them.

But when you’re fighting a ghost who seems to know all your secrets, retreating is no longer an option.

No. I wanted to love this series, and there are so many things I do love about it. I have two main problems: First, the two young adults (are they 19? 20?) in teacher and leadership positions grooming and flirting with a 15-year-old?? EW. Not okay. I will not be purchasing any more of these. Second, from the beginning this series has used the "not like other girls" trope. It even used the same cliche line in one of the earlier books. I was hoping the characters would learn it was harmful to think that way and progress as characters, but it just keeps getting worse. It's not just the line. It's an overpowering theme that taints the entire series to the point where I've had enough. I understand the appeal. When I was younger, I was tricked by it, too. In reality, it's anti-woman. I encourage the author to research how harmful and sexist the "not like other girls" cliche is.
