About this ebook

The Daily Decision Framework is a detailed, practical guide to The Daily Decision Framework for Overwhelmed Busy People for readers who want a clear path from understanding the topic to using it confidently in real situations. The book is designed as a structured learning companion rather than a shallow overview: it introduces the core ideas, explains why they matter, then develops them through realistic examples, guided practice, scenario-based explanations, and common mistakes to avoid. Readers are taken step by step from foundational concepts into everyday applications, with each chapter building on the previous one so the material feels progressive, usable, and easy to revisit. The main areas of focus include The Overwhelm Audit, Why Your Brain Overheats, The Daily Decision Framework, The 90-Second Clarifier, Three Filters Are Enough, The Art of the Pre-Decision, The Morning Decision Block, Three Overwhelmed Professionals, The Seven Decision Mistakes, Good Enough Wins, giving the book a concrete learning arc that moves from orientation and confidence-building to applied communication, problem solving, and independent practice. The writing style is direct, supportive, and accessible, making the book suitable for self-study, classroom reinforcement, professional development, or personal improvement. It emphasizes practical understanding over abstract theory, so readers can immediately connect the lessons to conversations, decisions, habits, and challenges they are likely to face outside the page. By the end of the book, readers should have not only a stronger grasp of the subject, but also a collection of repeatable strategies, useful language patterns, mental models, and practical routines they can continue applying after they finish reading.

About the author

Brooks Gaye is a productivity coach, writer, and former operations director who has spent more than a decade helping overwhelmed professionals make better decisions with less agony. The Daily Decision Framework grew directly out of that work: first as a set of habits Brooks used to manage teams under constant deadline pressure, then as a coaching tool for clients who arrived exhausted, stuck, and certain that they were simply "bad at decisions."

Across fifteen years of working with managers, founders, and high-performing individual contributors, Brooks developed a straightforward observation: the people who seemed to decide effortlessly were not smarter or more decisive by nature — they simply had a structure they trusted, while everyone else was improvising. That insight became this book.

Brooks has taught the framework to hundreds of clients across tech, healthcare, education, and the creative industries, and has written extensively on decision-making, focus, and the psychology of busy work. A recovering maximizer who once spent three days choosing a backpack, Brooks now subscribes to the framework's own principle: name the decision, set the criteria, set a deadline, and move on — which is also, conveniently, how this book came to exist. Brooks writes a weekly newsletter on practical decision-making for busy professionals, and lives for slow mornings, long walks, and a calendar with plenty of empty space.
