About this ebook

The world now has its first sage in over a century! Luciel returns at last from his extended stay in the City in the Sky with wondrous powers in hand, and this displeases a very particular faction within the Church of Saint Shurule. Red carpets were never the timid S-rank’s style, but an armed platoon isn’t exactly what he had in mind for his homecoming either. To make matters worse, just about everywhere Luciel turns is yet another plot in the making. Four months can really leave a guy out of the loop.

Demons, amnesia, volatile rumors, doppelgängers in the empire—it seems like the entire world is out to get the ex-healer, but why? Is it all just a coincidental twist of fate? Or is there something more sinister at play?

It's one of my least favorite books so far of the series! Honestly, how long do Nanaella and Monica need to be engaged to the twerp! Mentioning them once or twice per book in like the last five volumes is criminal! Much less Lumina! I'm personally hoping they, all, just dump his sorry dumbass. 😞 The interactions between Luciel and the craftsmen are just as awful, too. When it takes only a day to build a Taj Mahal, why discuss anything other than the Captain Pickard line, "Make it so!" The Yenice storyline was a bust. Why do a repeat of it here? Yeah we know they were added only for the end of the book, so needless to say the ending was brutally bad, almost comic! The pope scene was the worst part, and I usually like her scenes. Once again the sage was a big dumbass through most of the book! What an oxymoron to call Luciel a sage at this point of the story!

This series is still going strong. I can't stop reading. One of my absolute favorite series. 2 - 3 days reading. Now I will eat and sleep before looking for a new book to read.
